Dutch farmers to get their own TV channel

Broadband TV News reports that the Farm & Food TV Channel, a digital theme channel and video platform initially targeting Dutch farmers, will go live in September.

Programming on the channel will include news and current affairs, debates, docusoaps, portraits of farmers and reports and documentaries about food production, food issues and local produce.

One can only imagine what a ‘docusoap’ set on a Dutch farm will be like but it’s so different it will probably be a hit. But the overall focus will be on farmers, gardeners and other professionals in the agro-food chain and consumers with a special interest in the origin of food and food issues.

Judging from the popularity of similar shows like Countryfile in the UK the producers of Farm & Food might well be onto a big hit.
